Yo fellas, so here's my

Yo fellas, so here's my thoughts on Kitchen Confidential:

This was more of a pleasure read than anything as I took away very little education wise. I may have learned a couple of key words in regards to the culinary industry but that's about it. Kitchen Confidential is essentially an autobiography, detailing Anthony Bourdain's insane journey to rise up through the restaurant industry in New York. He begins as a cynical teenager, strung out on different concoctions of illegal narcotics and honestly, not much changes for a while. There's a passage in the book where he recalls being in a cab with three of his close friends (all junkies). Bourdain blurts out that he read somewhere that only one out of four people manage to escape the very real danger of drug addiction and go onto lead a healthy lifestyle. He immediately regretted saying it, but he knew it would be him. He knew he would be the one in his social group who eventually quit drugs. And he was right.

Soon after kicking his drug habits he starts getting more high profile jobs and ends up being the Executive Chef at Les Halles in New York. A moderately successful (they pump out about 280 dishes in a regular lunch service) joint. Soon after, he wrote this book which took the culinary industry by storm. He was famous. He got signed onto a show with the Travel Channel (No Reservations) and now has a new show (Parts Unknown) on CNN. The shows consist of him visiting different cities all around the globe and seeing friends, tasting food, and it's narrated by Anthony himself. Even if you don't read this book, I highly reccommend watching one of his shows if you have spare time. He's a great example of a guy who rose above the shit, had countless chances to fail (he should probably be dead), and became a gigantic success. There is a lot to be learned from his drive and dedication. He is an amazing example of why being process oriented is infinitely more important than being interested in results.

That's about it. Next up on my list is "Mastery" by George Leonard. I'll update the OP once I finish the book or have another Field Report.

Happy Friday everybody! Going to bust out some work, go to the liquor store, make some old fashioneds, and then go to a dear old fraternity brother's surprise birthday party.

Cheers

Geezus, how old are you? You must be hitting your prime pussy slaying years right now.

EDIT: Also, just a quick note. The girl in my most recent LR was the one in the first LR I wrote in here.

Jealousy is an extremely strong emotion and creating that competitive vibe between girls can be beneficial.

Here's my write up on The War

Here's my write up on The War of Art by Steven Pressfield.

We all have a sense of our own possibility to be great. Everyone has an inner genius, something special and unique to offer the world. I'm sure most people believe this at some level, or least USED to, before they were beaten into submission. But why do most people never even come close to bringing out their inner genius? The War of Art is about the one and only obstacle to greatness: Resistance, and how to overcome it in the subtle, or not-so-subtle, ways it manifests itself in your life.

The pickup community has an anecdote that only 5% of us will really be great and the other 95% will be, at best, mediocre. If you think about it though, this statistic is most likely true for EVERYTHING. Why are we not doing the things needed to be GREAT? Because doing those things is SCARY. We're identified so much with who we are, that growing is a painful process. We tell ourselves, "Oh that's not me. I can't ever do that. I need to learn more first. Someday I'll be that." And on and on. Your inner resistance will lie to you all day long, make excuses, give rationalizations why you shouldn't GET YOUR SHIT DONE.

As for me personally, I will confess that I deal with a ton of resistance. For example, starting a painting or drawing, can be a painful process sometimes. I deal with a ton of self-doubt. I start off and it always looks like a finger painting done by a 2nd grader, then the resistance sets in. I start thinking, "Who am I to try this. I'm not good enough yet. I need to learn more first. What will this person think? What will that person think? Maybe I'll wait till tomorrow when I'm in a better mood."

The thing that you have to realize is that fear will always be present. The way to overcome it is to recognize it, distance yourself from the outcome, and discipline yourself to push through it come hell or high water.

The thing you are resisting doing the most right now, is probably the thing you should drop everything else and DO RIGHT NOW.

The book was pretty amazing and brought up some absolutely great points. The only critisizm I have for the book was that it seemed a little bit rushed through. But that may be because I was listening to the audiobook and went through it in an afternoon.

Alright, I started on my

Alright, I started on my fifth book last night. I'm becoming a lot more interested in making money and hopefully obtaining a passive income over the next one to two years. Mostly from IM. I don't know where to start exactly but this book should poin tme in the right direction as far as habits I can develop to become successful.

Now, I only have about 90 pages. It's a preview version in PDF format. If anyone can get a copy via torrent or has the full PDF file, please PM me on here and we can exchange e-mails.

It's crazy that you only have the first 90 pages. I couldn't stand the first third of the book I skipped ahead and then it became very very good. I was constantly getting ideas from the book to start implementing immediately. .

I experienced this for the first time in my life with the latina girl on Sunday night.  For whatever reason I felt less inhibited with the girl the previous weekend, and I opened up a bit.  With this one I took charge and care for her and her friend.  When I was engaging in some heavy petting with her outside of her friends' hotel room she gradually went into a deep sexual state--almost like she was hypnotized.  That's what allowed me to take her back to my house in a cab.  Once inside my room I was an uninhibited as I've been probably ever.  So much of it, I believe, was the state she was in and her amazing pussy.

There are literally endless opportunities for making money over the internet.  It's growing exponentially everyday, the opportunity we have for ourselves right now is just ridiculous.  Marketing in general is a skillset that every successful person should have - you can create wealth for yourself no matter what happens in your life.  Read The Laptop Millionaire by Mark Anastasi - should give you plenty of ideas where to start generating wealth over the internet

thanks I'll check it out. The more I evaluate  my options, the more attractive IM looks vs. The monotony of every day industry work. Although I would not mind a job in sales.

yeah man, there's ways to achieve this more often. Much of it has to do with focusing on her sensations and breathing comfortably.

I heard "Lone Survivor" was good. Just haven't gotten around to reading it yet. Saw the movie tho.

I read "The Art of War" by  sun tzu (not to be confused with "The War of Art"). Also "Entreleadership" by Dave Ramsey. And I've been going through Terry Goodkind's fantasy books over again, just cuz I have them on audiobook and can listen while I'm driving.
