Almost lured into rejection by an old fling

So I literally went through old text conversations that fizzled out and just didn't work out for whatever reason. Found one and texted her some funny shit and sent her a picture. This girl gave me all kinds of shit. I've been texting her for about two weeks because I know she is interested but she just continues to throw obstacles my way. Well I finally shifted the tide by sticking with it and making her feel "special".

So lesson learned here?! Girls will test you in the craziest ways. They will fuck with your head because they know so many guys are impulsive to just jump into sex. She wants to make sure you are a guy with emotional control, a man.

Anybody have any suggestions on how I could have handled it better or just opinions in general? Was it a test?? My instincts say yes but my bawls say no. Prior to this convo we agreed to hang out on Sunday.
