Anyone with cold approach sales experience?
Before anyone tries to tell me to be careful about this or that I'll get scammed keep in mind I personally know people who had shit work ethic and the company went out of their way to help them out and get them their money. Also been getting trained/meeting with the owners for months.
Anyways. I'm doing my first week next week, training up ect, then I'm leaving and coming back home to finish out the last month of school, then I'm back out right when that's over so I'm just tryna get in a good headspace for that.
Very similar to game. A lot of sales training is based around NLP and frame control. I did cold approach sales for a while with a team of women, pretty fun stuff.
Alright back for any other advice I can get outta you fellas. I'm doing 'ok' in my sales. Nothing spectacular, last week was kind of shit. A big thing is getting people to take me seriously in that first few seconds of seeing me as I'm only 18 years old. How can I get staunchy old people to take me seriously?
Ok what's the sales process here. Are you knocking on their doors? Describe a scenario..
Knock on doors. Pitch is kinda retarded but its "Hey we've just gotten some calls in your neighborhood recently so while were helping your neighbors out were doing a group rate on surrounding homes" (showing pics of bugs)
Explain that its half off, figure out what type of pests they are seeing, go throught the service, create value, explain what slots I have open, close. <---- thats how it goes ideally.
Well if you think it's retarded, change it. I changed every single sales "pitch" I ever used. Made it better, sound smoother, made it something I believed in and could speak on with conviction.
Where's your bottleneck happening?
Theres obviously the "NO" door slam type people or the instant "not interested" three or four times but I'm not really worried about those ones. It more the ones who I get through most of the pitch and then they're like "yeah we just don't really see bugs right now" or "yeah I just don't see the point". Its an issue of building the value and closing them hard enough to seal the deal.
Correct me if I'm wrong but this is the perfect time to do it because it's preventing bugs from infesting in the first place? I mean.. if you wait till they show up.. you've waited too long basically.
Thats what you communicate to them but people are too fucking stupid to realize that preventing a problem is cheaper than fixing it.
No man, that's up to you ;)
mindset is vital here. do you think of yourself as doing something retarded, or do you think your product is as important as curing cancer.
if it's the latter then people have no choice but to take you seriously.
You guys actually got me out of my slump. My boss explained that I was being a permission boy on the doors and that I had to start showing people what we did whether they wanted it or not. So with a little switch in mindset I switched from "oh god I hope this works" to "My only goal is to show this guy my service and ask him to sign up for a timeslot." I found I was talking to people for way longer than I ordinarily would have been. It really was up to me. I shouldn't have been expecting people to buy my service even thought they needed it in the same way you cant expect a girl to jump right on your cock even though you know she wants it. You still have to work them into it :)
Also MW, I'm thinking about doing your coaching as soon as I get paid, do you think it could help with the sales as well as girls? Since I'm a private contractor I can write that type of stuff off if I can connect it to work but I'm also interested in your pick up coaching too.
Yes, it would be gigantic for your sales.
And of course I would tailor the training with your sales in mind as well.
