@kris - Jay'z autobiography/a comprehensive breakdown of his lyrics in his bestselling songs. Like, take '99 bitches' for instance, the common misconception is that it's misoygnistic and related to women. This is far from the truth, it's actually about Jay riding in a vehicle with bricks of cocaine in his boot - a cop pulled him over just because he was black, so they're both in the wrong legally, but they believe what they're doing can be justified...jay gets away because the sniffer dogs are late on arrival, hence why a 'bitch' is not one of his problems.

that's just one example out of many. I believe if you really want to immerse yourself in this book Manwhore then it's worth listening to a lot of Jay's stuff and plugging yourself into the mind of a hungry black hustler from the hard knock streets of New York.

start with his debut album, Reasonable Doubt. A complete masterpiece - it made me fall in love with Jay. no homo

Yeah I think Jay Z's great, but I'm not looking to immerse myself in "rap culture". I read a few more pages it was alright lol 

Is there anything to take from this boo. Like, the 50th Law for example has a shit ton of useful info on being a boss, does this just explain his creative technique or is it just like a thesaurus for his music?

not as tight as the 50th Law - reading on a bit i've realized it can get repetitive, but if you like hip hop then this is the book for you

It's interesting, because I can actually see Jay Z's voice in this book. Like literally I can see him coming out of the words. And it's just not that crazy.. lol. I wonder if Beyonce puts him thru conversational drills :b
