I think you got it. But i'll explain anyway.
Using other people's metrics to judge/gauge one's self worth.
Ie. Am i too poor for her?
This statement has the assumption that she might like dudes with money, and consequently you might not be ' good enough ' because you are deficient in this department.

Yeah... I don't really know what it means to be self-conscious so I guess this one didn't hit me too hard.
Very self critical- but self conscious.... yeah, I've never been that in the slightest.

Lol. The cleverness I saw
Lol. The cleverness I saw wasn't in the sentence at all. I thought that part was pretty simple.
I just saw that i'd clicked the link knowing exactly what being self conscious is (to me). But clicked to 'find out' what being self conscious is "from anothers eyes" (i.e. manwhore) anyway.
Intended or not- I found that funny.

I thought the most fascinating part was the fact that the brain/society has taken something that arises from the outside world.. and figured out how to put the blame back on the individual/itself! Being self-conscious doesn't have anything to do with the "self" at all! So it's one more layer of cognitive dissonance so the real issue cannot be addressed. And that issue is this.. you should NOT be trying to judge yourself through the perceptions of others.
