Does anyone actually write ''field reports''?
Do you and why?
I don't, because i just haven't gotten around to it, but i feel i should.
Yeah man. I started reviewing my nights. Specific moments in the interaction with the intention of...
1. Understanding what I did that didn't work
2. What I will do next time so it doesn't happen
Being intentional like that has made a huge difference. I realized I hadn't been doing it because of ego protection, I wanted to preserve this self-image of having it all handled or like I didn't need to improve. I consciously decided to start humbling myself and to learn and be coachable.
Would highly recommend it if you're serious about getting good. The way I see it is I want to operate like a pro instead of a novice, I want to indentify the next thing to learn, focus on it to internalize it as quickly as possible so I can automatically do it and then advance to the next level.
Yes they're pretty essential if you want to get really good at this stuff. I was writing field reports back in 2005. Fast forward 10 yrs later I'm running a 6 figure coaching business ;) My lay reports became my reputation
You have NO IDEA how much you'll get out of them. Writing them conceptualizes everything. You THINK you understand something, then you write it out and you realize you didn't, or more than likely your understanding becomes INTERNALIZED. Congruency and consistency
Plus when I took a break from the game in 2010 I got back on the horse very easily simply by going through my old writings.
