I was raised catholic, there are a lot of things I fundamentally disagree with him on... Like his critisim of free-market capitalism. I think he's totally off on the wrong track, like Russel Brand and his last interview. They both come really friggin close, but end up missing it completely and advocate quasi-socialism instead. Which is just more of the same problem.
But I agree with you though. It's pretty badass to see a pope who doesn't live in his ivory tower, writing worthless, long-winded essays on how and why you're going to hell.

Exactly, though- like yes, I agree the church sucks.... But fuckin a man this new pope is just such a significant shift from previous popes...and that's somethin you don't see in high-powered positions very often.... Look at Obama- he literally RAN on change, but at the end of the day, I don't see a ton of "change" happening.

Dude... the church is legitimately run similar to a high-powered gang or mafia..... They have won countless turf battles over the years and basically have their foot soldiers (priests) do all the crazy shit while the high-powered leaders just chill in the background, pullin strings
