I think a lot of you would find this very interesting, especially how it relates back to game etc.

Read the whole thing. The dots start lining up at the end of the article.

Great article. Have you read The Talent Code??

It takes the idea of "talent" and breaks it down into it's components. E.g. "chunking" and practicing the singular components before/while practicing the big-picture talent/skill/sport.

This is actually the basis for my coaching actually. Though I think it's the basis for any true attempt at teaching something worth teaching ;b

I felt like what was currently out there didn't do a good enough job of breaking down, or "chunking" the seduction skill set into components that could be learned and honed.

So take for instances Julien's "drama" game. That's a skill set, and a very important one. But what are its components? How can it be broken down and PRACTICED, and made better.

Haven't read it, but I can DEFINITELY relate to that. I've learnt an obnoxious amount of various skills over the past couple of years, and it always follows the same pattern. How you learn anything is how you learn everything.

For example in juggling, there's a 3-ball pattern called Mill's Mess which looks incredibly complex, but really isn't. Each ball has a specific pattern, so you learn it by learning how to toss each ball individually before stitching it all together.

Hmm... this is super-interesting, especially in the context of what you mentioned here and in the other thread about the three distinct parts of game. I'm at that stage of "struggle" and confusion where I'm getting a lot of loosely related information from a lot of different sources... and I know my brain is working it out and it will all resolve into clarity soon. I'm learning something, though I'm not sure what.
