Hello College Semester - First Impressions
So college starts next week...I'm fucking stoked.
My problem is that the kids/people at this school don't really dress well/professionally at all..... where as I would be having to go to school after work shifts and what not. My dress code for work is trousers, dress shirt, tie, loafers/dress shoes. It's quite a step up from what the people at school wear. For example, the school is a fairly athletic school, you'll see kids in sweats every where, jeans too, and t -shirts, where as I will be pretty dressed up. Could I use this in my favor or will I stick out like a sore thumb too much. It's funny cause I enjoy wearing clothing like this but I know when gaming and building social circles it's almost better to fit in?
I'm just curious and could use some insight on this
I usually stood out pretty conspicuously in college. I had girls tell me I usually looked "dressed up" to a certain degree. It definitely worked in my benefit but I was definitely about standing out not blending it. I've never been good at blending in ;) That being said I did have some problems connecting with certain frat dudes and certain situations. So I peed on'em
Hmm, i'm starting next week. Will probably just dress normal, ie a shirt and a pair of jeans.
I haven't managed to get an apartment yet though because i've been abroad all this year. but yolo i'll try to find a chick i can sleep with until i get my own room
Being dressed professionally is rarely seen as weird. It should work in your favor. There's a certain amount of inherent value because good clothes cost more money and people with jobs must dress professionally.
I don't mind sticking out if I do it on my own terms. (I.e. In a good way)
I don't care much for frat boys. We don't have fears at this college, they do at the university I'll be transferring to next year though, my main concern is building social circles with the females.
Ill often be "dressed up" I think I'm just looking in ways to use all of this in my favor to the best of my abilities. Especially in a school that's so laid back.
I dont have much of a choice, maybe I'll just accept it and rock it
