How to Ask Girls Out Without Looking Needy

I'm having trouble asking girls out without looking needy. Basically I want to know when she is free and go out on a night that she is free. I may also want to suggest going out on Fri or Sat night, but that may make me look bad because she might think I don't have other girls to go out with if I'm gonna dedicate a weekend night to her. Is it better for a guy to suggest a night to go out and have her say yes or no, or is it better to have her tell you a night she is free and go with that? How do you ask a girl to go out with you on a Fri or Sat without making it seem like you have nothing else going on?
I know you could always invite her along to something, "Hey I'm going to place x, wanna come?". But how do you make plans in a way that's not needy and doesn't make you look bad?

It's very circumstantial but yes Buddhabutt gave you the necessary details. Just be having a fun vibe with her over text, ask her if she's free on Thurs or whatever and tell her to go do whatever with you. Yes I wouldn't tell her to meet up with you on a Friday or Sat. night. Why you want that?

If you REALLY REALLY want to take a girl out on the weekend (which, again... is not that smart, just from a rational "poker strategy" sense) just do the same thing you would do for any other night.
