It won't let me view it

It won't let me view it because I'm British... not sure how that works.

Could you summarise? I live in a very high profile area for mugging

I had to learn the lesson the

I had to learn the lesson the article teaches through firsthand experience.

Back in 2007 some guy mugged me and tried to steal my mp3 player while I was out walking. At that point I had never been robbed before and never even considered the possibility, so I was totally oblivious to my surroundings. This was long before I discovered game and self-improvement stuff pertaining to body language and posture. At the time my posture was probably bad and I was too timid to look people in the eye, so yeah I made a perfect target.

As I was walking to a nearby park, a car pulled up alongside and this dude cracked open the passenger door and asked me for directions. Being the good samaritan I am I quickly jumped at the opportunity to display my superior knowledge of the local georgraphy and give this poor dude some directions. A split second later, I noticed this giant fist heading toward my face, fortunately my subconscious took over for me, my head turned (this all happend in slow motion too btw, it was really amazing) and then my entire body turned completely away from him. The guy then grabbed the tail of my shirt as i was in the full run position. I was now off the side walk in the dirt by the road and I was kicking up dust as I was trying to run away while this guy was still pulling on my t-shirt (in hindsight this must have looked incredibly funny). This all probably happened in less than 5 seconds, but it felt like an eternity at the time. Anyways, he finally lost grip of my t-shirt and I took off running, he chased me for maybe 10 ft. then got back in his car and they sped off. Afterwards I had so much adrenaline in me I was literally shaking. I had never been in so much as a fight or any type of physical confrontation before this point, so it was like a complete overload for my system.

Fast forward 5 years later. Having read plenty of literature on body language and after dramatically improving my posture and confidence, I was confronted with another potential robbery type situation. As I was walking home from college on my usual route, I became aware of 3 guys standing near each other about 70 yards ahead of me. The big guy in the group pointed in my direction, and the two other guys turned around and started jogging in my direction. As the two guys were getting closer I noticed their thuggish looking clothing, one of them had a doo rag on his head (these were white guys believe it or not). I immediately knew the guys were going to try something. This time instead of flinching and trying to run away, I perked my shoulders up, widened my stance, slowed down my walk, flipped my sun glasses up to look them in the eye and then reached in my pockets to grab my pepper spray in one hand, and my tactical pen in the other hand. Ready to do battle and fuck some shit up! The two guys started slowing down, and then the big guy way off in the distance yelled at them to come back. Both of them turned around and jogged back to him. As I walked past the group of three guys, I overheard the big guy telling the other two guys to always "look if they reach in their pockets" and "see if they look you in the eye" and other shit like that. The guy was basically giving the other two guys tips on how to successfully rob people. Needless to say that really pissed me off. Right as I walked past them, I looked the big dude right in the eye and gave him the meanest stare I've probably ever given anyone in my life, that stare said something to the effect of, "I want to rape you with a fucking machete you piece of shit!" The big dude immediately said in a very timid and somewhat shaky voice, "What you looking at dog, man...be looking at me like that". I think that was the first time in my life that I ever intimidated anyone, and this guy was easily twice my size. I could clearly see the look of being intimidated in the guy's eyes, he immediately looked down and turned his head away. I think he was embarassed because his two buddies were watching. I basically amogged him, I made him flinch under pressure.

Come to think of it, I probably just should have kicked his ass, oh well, maybe next time.
