i don't know why this guy is so amazing to me. i'll actually be picking up girls, and whenever the topic of music arises i ask them if they like kanye west. wtf lol...
Kanye West is one of the great musical minds of this era.
With his skill set and talent and what he's already built he could become one of the most powerful men in this world. He's held back by lack of seasoning and maturity, but that could change.
i love the way you think man.
it's crazy to think he's better than Jay Z - he came along and started talking about Christianity in his songs. NOBODY liked gospel rap deep in the 2000s, but he inverted the conventions of hip hop and made it cool to be your average church going, blue collar guy.
i seriously think i'm going to centre my dissertation around hip hop in two years time.
wait, hang on. what do you think his sticking points are (in general) ?
i personally think if he listened to some Practicing the Power of Now he would be on another dimension.
"Just needed time alone with my own thoughts
Got treasures in my mind
but couldn't open up my own vault
My childlike creativity, purity and honesty
Takin' my inner child, I'm fightin' for it, custody
With these responsibilities that they entrusted me
As I look down at my Dia-Mond-Encrusted piece"
All I can say to that stanza is.... woh
yea Kanye's a lyrical genius fosho

I ain't play the hand I was dealt, I changed my cards
I prayed to the skies and I changed my stars
I went to the malls and I balled too hard
"Oh my god, is that a black card?"
I turned around and replied, "Why yes
But I prefer the term African American Express"
Brains, power, and muscle, like Dame, Puffy, and Russell
Your boy back on his hustle, you know what I've been up to
Killin y'all niggas on that lyrical shit
Mayonnaise colored Benz, I push Miracle Whips
"Oh my god, is that a black card?"
I turned around and replied, "Why yes
But I prefer the term African American Express"
Damn. That is fuckin' killer
