This topic's been on my mind
This topic's been on my mind lately as I want to start my own blog. I've been debating between getting someone to build it for me or figure it out by myself. I did the whole google "how to create your own website" and it doesn't seem THAT hard.
Any resources or websites you can recommend that will help a newb learn from the ground up? How long did it take you to learn the skill? Can you give us some background on where you started off? Did you have previous education in HTML ect... Or did you start off as a complete self-educated newb?

Holmes just buy a domain off
Holmes just buy a domain off namecheap, get hosting for it off liquidweb, install wordpress on it by going into the site's cpanel and choosing that option, and then it's just a matter of logging into the wordpress backend and writing posts.

I started a website using
I started a website using GoDaddy and Hostgator a while back. I used wordpress to create articles and make the layouts. Anyway, my goal was to make passive income, but I had to pitch an article at cracked.com. After months and months of pitching articles, people had already either came up with the idea for the article before I did or it didn't hook them. I canceled my subscriptions with hostgator and GoDaddy. Do you know if there is a better/efficient/easier way to make steady income online?

I've made money online pretty
I've made money online pretty much every way possible..
Started out doing polls with zip/email submits, was successful at that. Then did POF for a few years, killed it at that. Did some Facebook ads, did pretty well at that. Did some media buys, did alright with those. Then put together a membership site, that was cool, got me started on this.. and now I'm getting into product development.

Yo Manwhore, I'm curious as to how you monetized off facebook ads.
Been informed that direct linking to a peerfly or maxbounty offer immediately results in disapproval.
So it seems the only two options left are capitalizing off an opt-in list, or posting affiliate links in your status updates through a fan page.

The fact you dont know
The fact you dont know yourself if you get disapproved for direct linking or not means you are not ready for Facebook lol. That one will eat you alive. What's your current experience with internet marketing?

Moderate success with SEO.
Moderate success with SEO. New to paid advertising.
Already developed a consistent weekly budget I'm willing to "Blow" on PPC.
Losing money isn't something I'm afraid of as long as I'm learning.

I want my own website and I have many ideas for content. Just don't know how I will make money besides advertisments once site gets big enough.
dabbled with basic html, visual basic, adobe graphics programs, Photoshop. Looking at code academy to teach what I need to know. Want to look into other easier options of making money from the net. Email polls, m'whore? I see Seo pop up in the forums. Going to check that too.
