Is it possible for things to end with a girl without negativity?
I've been feeling really down lately because things ended with my girl and she's completely heartbroken. My attachment to her is not the issue, I feel quite content, but i'm upset that she is taking it so badly. We had a friends with benefits thing going on and I think I made that clear but she ended up taking it a lot more seriously.
The whole conflict when she asked me how I would feel if she hooked up with another guy and I said something along the lines of "I wouldnt encourage it but if its something you'd desire I would think its normal in our situation. As long as it wasn't a bunch of weirdos then I would no longer hook up with you." I guess I fucked up here, because she claimed that she feels competely differently and that "The thought of me being with someone else is disgusting."
Without going into detail, she doesn't want to be with me anymore because I don't want to make her my girlfriend. Which is fucking ridiculous because we already dated before and that didnt workout well!!
The last thing I want to happen is for her to have bad feelings about me. I had to be honest with her though, I can't let myself date her and settle for something that stunts my development with girls. I care about her and it was cool to get consistant sex but I have this deep desire to persue girls that really challenge me.
Fuck,part of the problem is that I let this conflict occur mostly over text. If I had talked to her in person and projected myself correctly I would have had a lot more influence.
