I think the reason myself and a lot of guys are inclined to defend Julien is that we've all seen the media misrepresent what pickup is. And most of what Julien says is actually good advice.

I think Julien made the mistake of positioning himself as a sardonic comedian who also teaches seminars to guys. That's where it gets fucked. If he just said completely offensive shit, no one would really care as much. But because he says horrible shit, people assume that's what he teaches in his seminars. And they don't want this guy teaching people rape tactics.
Julien is really fucking young. And he probably thought nothing of this could have happened to the extent it did. Tyler should have smacked Julien on the head and said "wtf are you doing retard". It just went un punished for so long, that he thought he was god and could do whatever the fuck he wanted. Then he was so over the line of what's okay, people started taking notice and he got fucked up the ass.
