Kanye West KILLING IT!
But then there was this glimpse where he dropped some knowledge on there, I even took some quotes to my vault lol
my notes:
"Because my family made me believe in myself, no matter how many people tell me stop believing in yourself, stop saying what you can do, stop affirming what you going to do and then completing that on real life. That’s the improper way to do it."
"I refuse to follow those rules that society has set up in a way that they control people: with low self esteem, with improper information, with branding, marketing. I refuse to follow those rules. It’s about truth, it’s about information, it’s about awesomeness, and the only luxury is time."
"There are people spending five thousand dollars on this bag, ten thousand dollars on this, just to be like: we are better than you."
Also he frames like what he does he does for art and shit, but really I think he just want to make more money and to have a impact on culture like Michael Jackson, Michelangelo, and be remember as one of the greatest motherfuckers that ever walked on earth. Nothing wrong with that but the vibe a get from him is that he's doing that from a very egoistic place, like he's overcompensating.
Ok one thing I think a lot of people need to realize, is that some people, maybe even a lot of people, find his music absolutely mesmerizing. He's an inspired creator of musical art. If you don't experience that when you listen to Kanye of course you wouldn't find his attitude to be "natural".

yep always thought he was a genius in all honesty
This is the most coherent he's been for a while in interview though. Always been a fan, it was sad to see him breaking down and blowing up. Seems like he's finally working on that little bout of depression and getting sh it connected now.

To go along with what MW said, yeah people get really charged up about his music. Regardless of whether its coming from an egoistic place or not he IS making huge waves in the music industry and pop culture. He really did some cool shit, you would almost have to be delusional to some extent because normal fuckers don't rise to the level he did. In my mind, lol only a delusional person would want that much fame and spotlight on them, but as he said in the video, he needed it to do what he wanted to do.
To contrast, one of my fav musicians also made some huge waves in his genre. (What is in my opinion one of the biggest recent shifts to happen in music). He didn't get reconized too much and in fact caught some shit because he was ahead of the times musically. Well, the times caught up and he had huge pressure to.. as much as I hate this word.. "sell out." He decided not to, jumped out of the scene losing hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars and the fame of being in every other kids ipod and all over the radio.
He talks about himself so humbly when I see him.. maybe not on the same level as but for sure in the same league as some other legend musicians who weren't necessarily regonized at his time.
So imagine someone whose made huge impact like kayne in his scene (just not the same impact on pop culture) but with none of the ego. He has a very almost pessimistic fuck the industry punk rock attitude about the whole thing and almost hates praise for his talent/genius/work.
Point is that with or without the ego they are still doing their thing.

Are you saying this because he is like that in his songs, so when the fans see a interview it's normal for them?
Or
Are you saying this because people think he's the shit so he gets a free pass, so to speak, for being delusional cunt? Like "Whatever man! His Kanye West!
It doens't even matter though lol
What I was saying was that I find his attitude too try hard, kind of like the vibe RSDJulien was putting on his videos of Pimp takeover week on RSDnation for the Pimp product.
Thouse videos are private now on YT lol
Is like he lost touch with reality, he has no humbleness. Although he said on that interview that he wouldn't be shit without the rocafella deal.
I mean there are guys who I think are bigger then Kanye like Eminem and you don't see him doing retarded egostical rants, like a litle bitch.

Whatch the interview with sway, look at 16:57 to 25:00.
"But nobody gives me a chance to expand my creativity to other camps."
Yeah like you are waiting some influential fucker from the camp that you want in to back up your shit, so your creation have more impact. If he really wanted he would create shit regardless. He wants to sell shit. He don't want to put his money on the line because he know that he can lose it, like he did already, "and if people don't like what I create here? This shit won't sell I can't afford that."
I think he's just talking to much. Dude you want to create shit? Then shut the fuck up and create shit. And if is really good, like some of your songs are, people will buy into it. You got to create that window of opportunity with your work then someone will invest and not wait for some fucker to rescue you. He be like hey invest in me I got some ideas lol that's easy.
And then he says that we are slaves to Nike, etc, but he wants to be Nike. WTF dude. He wants to have a impact on the world but it's coming from a place of delusions of grandeur, kind of like Kenny Powers.
If a corporation does not endorse it's because they think you ain't all that. You can't demand anything from nobody, they don't have to give you not one dam thing. You only get endorsements based on if they think your shit is gonna sell.
Maybe I just don't like the guy lol
Ok interesting I need to add one more caveat. I don't watch t.v., I don't follow celebrities. I don't watch the news. It's all sensationalized garbage and it's only to bleed your focus into groupthink. Same difference between day trading and Warren Buffet. Day trading is the feminized version of investing. It's riding the emotional roller coaster, it's getting lost in the sauce and losing your emotional focus and subsequent stability. Not saying you can't do both, but I imagine it would be difficult.
I've rarely seen interviews with any of these people. It's why I still really like Tom Cruise, Kanye, Eminem, Britney Spears (yeah I fuck to some of her songs). I don't judge them by the insane, CRAZED spotlight society tries to put on them. The pressure is fucked beyond belief. The reason why Eminem doesn't do shit like what Kanye's doing is because he DID. He was a circus show for awhile and you're too young to remember. In the end Eminem learned to focus on that which he truly enjoyed and had to give, his art. Kanye still does the same. Don't worry that he woke up one morning and was pissed off. Wait till you see me in a pissed off mood. I make people cry, puppies too. Don't judge someone by a snapshot, or even multiple snapshots. The dude is one of the most amazing musical geniuses in human history. LET HIM fuel himself the way he needs to to continue giving his gift at the level he is.
"Let him fuel himself the way he needs to continue giving his gifts at the level he is"
You say it like he's some God or something. Like sould you feel awesome about yourself? YES, but don't delude yourself you ain't no god homie.
lol man, that's me fucking around. My nickname, my pic, all fucking around.
Do I believe in my potential? Absolutely. But I'm no god, I ain't perfect.
Yes but it was weird, and at times bizarre. And most of it was just plain dumb
I know but that was the purpose, this is not real life it was not a job interview or something.
When I did that I had just saw the last season of Eastbound and Down, and I was trying some of the show's humor.

Beautifully said I fucking love it.
Also, everybody's so wrought up with the negative/bad side of the ego. What about the positive aspect of it. Look at what Ayn Rand had to say about it. She gave us the fundamental point of the ego in the first place. Its place in evolution
The "amazing producer, crappy rapper" mindset is garbage. Anyone who knows the first thing about complex lyricism would rank Kanye highly. His first three albums especially were off the charts in terms of lyricism and creativity. They are still some of the most definitive albums of the 2000's. King, you're letting your opinion of him outside of music bleed into his abilities as a musician. I do the same hing from time to time, it's natural. I convinced myself Tyron Woodley would beat Rory Macdonald this weekend because I fucking HATE Rory. But if I looked at them both arbitrarily as fighters and their skill sets, I would have picked Rory to win.
But common lyrically he's not even close to Em, Royce, Kendrick, etc.
I'm not saying he can´t rap but I wouldn't put him on a top 10.
It's a matter of taste, but I do enjoy some of his songs.
