Motivation
I'm extremely motivated to get really good with women. But I have very little motivation to make money.
It's really a problem. With women it seems like it's develop real freedom and personal development. Making money/career seems like giving up real freedom and self-expression on top of your job duties in exchange for money. Whereas with women I'm motivated by the end goal enough so that the fear of rejection or looking like a tool doesn't bother me, with my current job I got (100% commission based, make my own schedule) I'm not motivated by money so for some reason all this rejection, having to go through tons of peoples and work without pay for long periods of time potentially without payout seem very real to me. I've been putting off this job and it's coming down to the last hour. If it goes this way I'll probably end up getting a shitty hourly paying job and I don't want to do that. I see overlap between pickup/cold approach and this sales gig. But I'm really apathetic and it just seems beyond me. With women since I foudn out about game it's always been a natural drive but money/career has never been this way.
I see some parallels between pickup and selling but it still seems like I've got to be willing to take up this fake/cheesy/beta'd because everything PC is emasculating role in exchange for cash. I know it's all in how I'm looking at it so I wanted to ask you guys if anyone here had had a similar experience and how you got around it. Or how I shoudl be looking at this because it really doesn't work. Also I want to get coaching with Jonathan to improve my game but I need to have a breakthrough in this money motivation area first. I think I could kill it at sales if I could build up my desire for it in the same way I have a strong desire to improve with women.
My order of Kratom arrived today. Halfway through making sales calls I made some. It started to kick in and eventually I felt so fucking motivated like a go getter let's fucking do this type of drive within me. My mom texts me. These people had asked for a quote on 30 shirts for their frat. She was telling me she would do it for $18 to get their business. I had this strong wtf hell fucking no I'm not going to let yourself demean yourself. Let them order it from China you're not going to do that shit for that cheap, it's demeaning to your self worth I'm going to go straight to the university and speak to whoever's in charge of any of the greek houses in and tell them I want to sell them shirts and that I want to talk to them.
I have never felt such a level of conviction, let's fucking do this drive ever. If this is a preview of what Kratom is like for me then this is going to be a game changer.
I definitely wasn't raised a hustler. Just ambitious.
You need to reaquisitio your ambitions to fulfill the whole trifecta. Health, wealth and love. You can't just pursue bishes or you will be a sad sap.
A lot of guys get into the dating community and come out the other side with financial independence as well. I was one of them. Around 26 yrs of age, post-military, I became aware of this whole "hustler mentality" that I was lacking. Hugely ambitious but only within "the system". I had to develop the propensity for it. It's reprogramming yourself to pursue what you need to.
Tell me about Kratom I just looked it up and couldn't find much about it. It's a "focusing" drug like adderal?
Different strains have different effects.
I was drawn to it because of Good Looking Loser's testimonial on it seemed really promising (http://www.goodlookingloser.com/more/archive/entry/all-about-kratom-1)
In particular that it helps to make you motivated, productive and gave you energy. I've been feeling lethargic, apathetic, lazy, uninspired when it comes to making money and just generally getting my shit together so I ordered it because of that.
Basically there are high energy, moderate energy and chill out type of strains. They all make you feel good. The low energy is more anti anxiety, chill out, feel good. The moderate and high energy give you motivation, make you more productive as well as making you feel good. The high energy strains I believe make you more productive doing physical activity (def attest to that today, felt like my thresshold for taking action was lowered like 80-90% from what my normal is. I didn't hesitate or think about it and put off stuff). Moderate is suposed to do the same but is better for more thinking intensive type work.
We'll see. Only 1 strain arrived today, should have a multipack arrive by next week.
And yes I see a HUGE potential with translating pickup into success in other areas of life. Charisma and pickup skills cross over everywhere especially sales/business. Any recommendations on how to work on shifting drive/desire? Hopefully this kratom will be the shit and make a huge difference, we'll see I'm very hopeful.
For me, it's not about the money - it's about the game.
What's the game?
I find stuff like Jonathan's LRs really inspiring because I see a clear picture of what's possible and who he's developed himself to be as a person and that's really motivating to me to go out and work towards that.
However when it comes to money the stuff I see doesn't inspire me because it seems like it's just guys overcompensating their chodeyness with money. Hey I have no real confidence with women but I get to feel like a boss by having this horrible life/time killing job but the title or the income I get gives me the illusion of being a boss. But really I'm just getting pimped out by society to give up my life for an adult version of a golden star sticker being stamped on my forehead and then I go and buy my way into 'attracting' women, like a John would. So this is what I associate with making lots of money.
I totally get it's just a bad frame but this is the current way I perceive it and I want to change this. Because with women I have an awesome vision and it inspires me but not with money/career and thus probably why I'm not genuinely motivated.
Does anyone have any websites, videos or people who are good examples of what the game/lifestyle looks like that isn't chode compensating for his shortcoming by making a lot of money? I think this will make a big difference.
Dude. You're on one right now. *facepalm*
There are multiple dudes on this site that run their own businesses. Even a couple millionaires
It's pathetic to try bring up chodes on this site like that's an excuse for a lack of action on your part. Actually I believe the correct term is "gay as fuck".
Well, when you put it that way I guess that is pretty gay as fuck.
Well, motivation is weak - it's a temporary boost. What you need to keep going and never stop is inspiration.
I understand some people don't really care much about making money. So no worries on that - don't even start to think about it.
All that you really have to do, is figure out what you desire out of life. What kind of life can you be living that will bring you tons of happiness and joy? Where you can just wake up and feel amazing everyday loving what you do?
Don't worry about the money at all - if you do this right, the money will just find it's way to you. You can live and do whatever you desire in life, and if you have the right mindset, and Know you can achieve it - then the money will always be a non-issue. You'll always just have whatever amount of money you need to live your lifestyle.
So don't think about making money, unless managing it and having tons of it at any given time is something that makes you feel good when you think about it.
If you do decide that you want a lot of money - all you need to know is that the secret to making money is by providing value for other people. If you can help people solve their problems, then you'll be compensated in the form of money. Find as many people to help as you can, and you can't not get rich. Money is just an exchange of energy, give people what they want, or help them get it, and they'll compensate you in the form of money.
"Cash flows to those who can sovle people's pressing problems"
If money's ever an issue, just ask yourself, "How can I serve?" "How can I be of service to others with what I do or what I'm interested in?" Focus on creating value for others and you'll get paid.
So what you need is not motivation, it's Inspiration. You get this by figuring out what you desire - allow yourself to daydream about it often and feel really good about it. This will generate the inspiration you're looking for. Think about the little kid sitting in the back of the classroom, daydreaming about his desired life... it's not work, it's pure pleasure and fun time.
Cool man thanks a lot. I love solving problems and helping people so this is much more inspiring than trying to like money for money's sake. I think this will make a big difference because often I'm helping people and doing it for free. Looking at how I can solve even more problems and on a larger scale can give me tons of great ideas. I see that I have inspiration when it comes to pickup and this is also what keeps me motivated but motivation with money has been difficult because I didn't have inspiration. Thanks a lot man, great distinctions.
Started reading Millionaire Fastlane, almost halfway through it and I'm talking to a friend in a few hours about putting together a system for generating income. He's a genius when it comes to data mining/visualization, machine learning, etc and I have some other friends with other great talents and we may be able to collaborate together and solve each other's problems. One of the things I'm really good at is seeing all different seemingly disconnected things and finding a way where they're all connected or can be used in unison to gain greater leverage for achieving an intention. For example I helped a friend get a 66% pay increase within a year and another making over 30K within a year through another job and another friend from working at Best buy with poverty level income to making $1k a week to drink and buy strangers beers at random bars all through just different conversations where I had them see all these different factors and how to work them together to get what they want and fast.
I also want to thank you for some fucking awesome posts in here. The success mindset article blew my fucking mind. I had read some of those ideas before but it's almost like everyone else writing it was just copying someone else they had heard these ideas from because you wrote about it in such a way where I knew you were speaking from direct knowledge and present the way you presented the goal (for example controlling your mind) and the way to get there seemed it just seemed obvious, simple and achievable if done with enough intention. And you presented it in a way where I was sold on the idea that yes clearly this is exactly what you want to do and what will determine the foundation for success. I had read a bunch of stuff similar to this but I had never had all those elements connected together for me in the way I mentioned. Thanks again man!
