We must be on the same brainwave cuz I was just thinking about boss/daddy this morning before work.
I like that he mentioned how he's "Down here with everyone else. Not up there." This is just my opinion... It's not so much humility as lack of arrogance that makes it work. It always seems to me like arrogant bastards can never get the boss but not the daddy.
