Main takeaway for me was how to use compliments effectively rather than if one should use them or not.
Don't use them to open, use them to bridge the gap and take the interaction to the next (pjhysical, sexual?) level.

It puts a girl in a very uncomfortable position to decide if she likes you or not on the spot. That doesn't fare well for you in a social setting if her friends are around. So don't take it personally if she says no ;)
