Pretty sure I'm going through Caffeine withdrawals.. so want to start juicing again
What's the best way to do this? I don't want to do the THICK green stuff.. obviously kale and spinach will go in in.. but I want some good fruities and also the correct minerals/vitamins. Help me out!
Personally I like to run smoothies in the morning, blender is easier to clean than the juicer, plus you can throw anything in there. Spinach, greens, cherries, banana, blueberries, powder greens, bee pollen, vegan protein, almond milk, coconut milk, oats, (this oil that's good for your brain I can't think of name right now), maybe some powder carbs, are some staples of mine. If you are using the juicer I keep reading that pot leaves have amazing benefit if you can get them.
Pot leaves? What kinds of benefits
Man caffeine is some fucking fantstic stuff. If used in moderation it can be insanely helpful. Coffee/caffeine is actually incredible shit if taken on an empty stomach, blunts appetite and increases the mobilization of fatty acids for fuel. Further, taking 100-200mg of caffeine (1-2 cups of coffee) before a workout boosts performance and allows you to feel less fatigue. Of course, once you go beyond this level of intake then problems can arise. This is why I like to use coffee/caffeine as an appetite suppressant and pre workout, usually in the fasted state.
How come you decided to cut caffeine completely out? I'd just limit it to 3-4 cups (that's like 2 medium coffee's or 300-400mg of caffeine) per day.
Yeah, I have mixed feelings on caffeine. Sometimes I abstain as I do with all stimulants from time to time; sugar, alcohol, all drugs, caffeine etc. just to clean up and clear my head once in awhile. It's amazing what a few months of clean diet and no stimulants does for your brain.
Damn A.j a few months? Lol
I totally forgot all the benefits of caffeine.. for a second! lol. Ok I'll take that into account. Maybe it's because I'm not taking caffeine that I'm going narcoleptic. So how many energy drinks does that equate to bateman?
I guess it depends on the energy drink. But usually a red bull contains 80mg. So you could have about 3-5 daily. That said, there is an advantage of taking caffeine in the form of black coffee, which is high in many flavanoids and nutritional compounds. In fact, coffee drinkers actually suffer from less diseases and illnesses adn total causes of mortality than non coffee drinkers.
But if you're doing the energy drink thing, ideally sugar free. And aim for utilizing caffeine in the fasted state or pre workout. Having caffeine with food/calories is not ideal. Caffeine decreases insulin sensitivity so your body won't be able to hanlde the carbs as well.
If you find yourself being very tired, it's possible you have a vitamin or mineral deficiency. I remember being super tired and it turned out I was super low in B12. One b12 shot later and I felt fucking orgasmic. Could also be zinc or other shit. Oh and keeping carbs low during the day helps a fuck ton with altertness. Keeps you in the sympathic nervous system state. Having more carbs later in the day/evening shifts you into the relaxation mode. What's more, carbs trigger the release of serotonin, which make you feel relaxed, happy and sleepy. This is one reason why I load up on carbs at night. Helps with sleep and I'm more focused and better energy levels during the day. On top of that, there are some interesting studies showing that eating the majority of your carbs at night (as opposed to breakfast) improved fat loss, improved muscle retention, kept leptin levels higher and improved heath markers. Also the late night carb group found it more enjoyable.

Yo that nootropic stuff sounds interesting, I'll have to read into it more. Where do you procure your L-Theanine from man
So a 5 hr energy drink for b12?
That's interesting about the carbs at night I didn't expect that. I'll start drinking more coffee
You can get inexpensive theanine on Amazon. 60 capsules for $16.
Take 200 mg of theanine with 100 mg of caffeine. You want a 2:1 theanine-caffeine ratio to balance out the effects.
Theanine is basically the opposite of caffeine. It lowers blood pressure, increases dopamine, and serotonin, and produces ALPHA brain waves (relaxed, slower thought patterns)
When you take it with caffeine, it smoothens out the buzz. All the benefits of caffeine without the anxiety, or crash.
On it right now as I'm typing. The SHITS AMAZING!
As farms green smoothies, add a shit ton of lime juice to your final product. Completely neutralizes the shitty earthy flavor and allows you to pound it down quick.

Acetyl-L-Carnitine is also good on its own, also a nootropic.
