Question about online game.

Hey guys,
Recently I've been doing a lot of online game, mostly all POF, and I've been running into a block where I would get the girl to respond, but they would only respond to my question with answers and that's it. I usually joke around, and then ask a question or ask multiple questions and they would only respond to one, etc. I was just wondering what you guys do in similar situations? This is my first time posting, so sorry if there is not enough info to go on. Let me know if I should add more.
