the role of emotions in alphas life
i somehow got into discussion about alphas with my therapist and i was telling her that i think that you shouldn't be very responsive, and anger or fear shouldn't register on your radar much. but the thing is... i seem to suppress negative emotions precisely because i think that it makes you weak.
so i was talking to her, and she led me to a pretty interesting idea... that alphas might be so calm not because they control/supress their emotions but because they embraced them and lived through those situations so many times that it just doesn't trigger a response anymore. and it sort of makes sense - that's the same with approaches... you survive the beginning and become calmer and calmer no matter what situation you encounter. so i am wondering how was it for you manwhore - did you go through something like i described (i can imagine that being in the army is an excellent way to get this stuff over with) or were you sort of always calm, and nonresponsive?
Yes dude that's exactly right.
thats right meaning that you have to experience (and feel emotions) in situations so many times that you come to a point when there are no emotions, and you're calm because you've been there so many times?
That's the slow laborious way. In conjuction with presence development/meditation and proper internal dialogue, leadership training you can speed up that process greatly.

This is really helpful
