Derp. I've been deleting numbers without turning back especially these past couple of months.
With that being said, it reminds me of something I saw one of my buddy pull off a long time ago:
He called up all the girls that went cold for a long time and left voicemails for the ones who didn't pick up.
He would end these messages with something along the lines of "I was wondering if it was worth keeping your number in my phone"
A bunch of them texted back, sometimes apologizing.

any tips for leaving upbeat voicemails? ii usually ends up sounding weird and forced whenever i talk after the beep

That's something that's covered in the long-term training program, but it's not that difficult. If you're that tense while leaving a voicemail/talking to someone on the phone, what you should do is distract yourself while on the phone. Lie back on the bed and toss a ball up in the air (or something), this helps. Also, call up one of your buddies beforehand and talk it up for a bit to warm yourself up.

...This is gonna sound newbish as FUCK but Imma ask anyway: So if you call her with the intention of leaving a voicemail and she actually picks up, do you just roll with the story anyway, or improvise from when she picks up and then try to set up a day2 within a few minutes of talking?
There's no real difference between rolling with the story and improvising.. not sure what you mean. But yes just fluff talk, have fun, and on a high note set up a date/meetup.
