So who watches Cobra Kai? I keep hearing it's a great show, but I couldn't make it through the first episode
I'd love to find out it's great but going on little information: 1) I just couldn't stand the intro scenes. And 2) by the time I got to the first fight I was mostly fed up and that initial fight scene was the last straw I turned it off right after that.
Not a hater. Just hatin'
Anyone seen it and has a good opinion?
Dude I binge watched this a few months ago. It's fucking excellent. Just watch the first episode, you'll be hooked the moment Johnny kicks those kids asses. Hilarious. They have so many awesome cameos in this show. If you weren't a fan of the original Karate Kid movie you probably won't like it though.
Okay I just read what you wrote. If you weren't hooked after the first fight, then you won't like the show.
I remember you didn't like Red Dead Redemption either so maybe there's just something wrong with you haha.
> :'D
Ok that's good to know I'll probably give it another whirl. Maybe in a group setting lol. Actually I just got wind of some classic anime I missed from a couple decades ago, e.g. Blue Gender. Darker Than Black looks pretty solid too. Anime done well makes a solid watch from time to time I'm just not a fan of long series in general.
Yeah I forgot you knew about Red Dead. Ha! But yeah recently in the last few years I've grown a lot more critical of movies and media. There's a ton recently I just shut off 10, 20, 40 minutes in. The movie industry has been bunk across the board lately because of shutdowns, but I'd say in general a lot of movies coming out have lost their depth.
That's not to say that anime is a good example of a genre that has more depth. Obviously not. Though I'd say there are some anime that manage to convey some pretty amazing emotional wisdom in exquisite detail. Trigun comes to mind. And some others. Even Devilman Crybaby I thought hit some real important themes. Ha! And there's plenty of old Disney animated classics that I'd consider to be American staples.
Isn't there a scene in the original Karate Kid where there's a silhouette practicing and perfecting the "Crane Kick"? I trained a bit with the guy who did that stunt work for the movie. Except I can't find the scene now.
I'm wondering if the scene in question is in the 2nd Karate Kid, 'cuz it's not in the first. Not sure, but that was the story. The guy was definitely the right build.. was teaching us to block and counter punches with crescent kicks ha!
You sure it's not in the first? At 0:36.. if that's what you had in mind. In the movie that's at 1 hour 34 minute mark.
You would literally catfish the karate kid
