Texting Question- Authentic Expression
Kinda just curious to see what community guys think about this lil text exchange: I guess I'm bringing it up cause I felt it waas super authentic but also maybe a lil too soft, but sometimes it can be hard to balance those two.. Like I notice that my authentic self has these elements of softness, and, for me, it seems to be easier to authentically find those "soft" elements, than it is to authentically find those more "hard" elements.
Me: Hey sorry for bein a dick last night. I had a shitton of stuff with work and potentially losing our biggest client so I've just been kinda low-key vulnerable all week.
Her: I understand I feel like it was awkward lol
Me: Yeah when we were on the phone it felt super awkward I totally felt that. I just wasn't feeling comfortable yesterday. Like mild anxiousness. Which obv isn't like me
Her: Well no worries, I hope everything works out with work
Me: Yeah its all good now thanks : )
Her: Let me know if there is anything I can do to help
I called her up and was just being uncharacteristically dick and like super miscalibrated.... felt akwward about it so I wanted to say somethin, especially since she knows me pretty well and is kinda my girl.

I think it's cool as long as your not acting extrememly apologetic or guilty. This is something Manwhore taught me, that when you fuck up you own up to it like man, but you NEVER frame it as if your weak. If you do, people will jump on that.
I don't think you even had to say sorry, you could've just said "damn I was a dick last night...". The important part though, is that you owned up to it, but did not do it like a bitch. You didn't say that you owe her anything for being a dick, you didn't repeat yourself as if you were scared that she wouln't accept what you said, and you didn't jump on the whole "let me know if i can do something"...i'm sure some dudes would use that an excuse to wine some more! lol
