Torn Meniscus - Exercises
So, my lateral meniscus is torn again for sure. I am waiting on a surgery date.
In the meantime I'm told to train as much/do whatever my knee allows. Stretches, brisk walks/jogs, weighted exercises, bodyweight exercises etc.
The only thing I've been advised against is anything that would involve pivoting or twisting my knee/leg/hips in fast explosive motions.
What do you guys suggest for weighted exercises?
I try to squat but occaisionally run into some pain. What I've done is lower the weight down next to nothing and increased my rep range and number of sets.
If you guys have any exercises or stretches that would help me out, that would be amazing.
Yes just don't get fat or I won't talk to you again ;) :p
I say that to all the girls lol
Hahaha tell me about it. My main worry right now is just that.
Squat with a bench under you maybe?
It seems everyone tears their meniscus doing kicks improperly. Derp
I can give the bench squats a go. I used to do those for rehab but with the lightest amount of weight.
I think I tore it doing jiu-jitsu... I remember this pain and horrible feeling when I went for a single leg/wrap around take down and it hasn't been the same since.
Ah, lifesaver. Thanks bro.

What happened?
Hey man surprised your sugeon didn't tell you to head to therapy. You should probably get another opinion if you haven't unless there is some other reason you are not trying therapy first?
Hey man I've been working out with a torn meniscus in my left leg for about 10 months now. Shit was killing me just making turns walking up the stairs but got better in time.

This guys a PT I believe & this is about a month and some days of him getting over his meniscus injury. He believes you can rehab to a point even better than you were pre-injury.
Very interesting things in here. I followed what he did & I'm back to ballin up fools at 24. Still get sore from time to time. I could tell you what to do specifically but it's better to get in from the source & adjust to your needs. Just check out the videos they aren't too long. His whole channel is gold.
Hope it helps.
That's wicked shit, man. Thanks so much. I'll start looking into this and incorporating it into my workouts.
