So i've been batting around at a business idea for the past week or so, i shared it with Manwhore and he said it'll be good to see what you guys think too.

I want to establish entrepreneurial networking groups between each and every university in London. The only entrepreneurial groups i ever see form in my university are the small events which occur once every semester, or a student who wants to make it big relies on the serendepity of meeting a potential business partner at Uni. To be honest, most people either want to party or get good grades at uni, and this encourages them to fraternize with other like minded individuals is a shortcut to hugely beneficial professional and personal relationships.

I want to work with the Heads of business in each london university, including my own, and use them as an intermediary to get the message out there faster that i'm running these groups for aspiring entrepreneurs. Essentially this is how the meetups would go down...myself or an organization which can fund the meetups would use this as an incentive to buy in the students; instead of having to pay to join socities as normal, we would encourage students to meet on all expense paid trips.

Ever heard of Elliot Bisnow? He did the same thing and made a killin.

The aim is to get these students together, create a dialogue between all of them - capture footage and put it on a blog, and turn this thing into a sensation. I've sent a letter to my Head to get his opinion on it, and if he gives it the Ok then i'll see if he can send it to other Heads in the London universities.

Any comments or suggestions are welcome.

I keep asking, what is the point of these groups? What's the value incentive to join. What are they getting out of it.

If someone is already running
If someone is already running their own business then they can learn from someone else who could be doing better in the society. If someone is just curious about business but needs to learn the ropes, then they have mentors and peers at their disposal within the society. If someone needs help in a certain area of their own individual project then they can reach out to someone in the society. All the above examples show how valuable such a society could be.

The incentive could be an all expensives paid journey on the train to Paris for the weekend. They relax, socialize and discuss ideas with one another. i haven't fleshed out the where and the when of all the meetups.

does this answer your question MW?

Right so what I'm saying is
Right so what I'm saying is you need to actually set up that flow of information between members and get that organization gridded out. You need to have a unifying idea that allows people to really identify with what's going on and how it's going to directly benefit them.

Your central theme should rest somehow on the premise that by joining this organization you'll be able to meet people who can help you make your business grow. Already successful entrepreneurs will get local recognition for being invited to come speak and give advice, etc.

I hope you have a mission
I hope you have a mission statement and business plan. People like to see ideas fleshed out from the beginning before they start investing time, and more importantly money into it.
