Ways to work on myself

Guys, I am trying to really round off my personality and get different aspects down. If we could start up a list here of things I could do, it would be helpful.
Theres somethings im not sure on - like do i need to read all these self help books? Is it necessary? Its not that i mind, but i would rather not waste my time if it isn't.
Okay, so an obvious one is health and fitness. Go.

@PepsiMax:
Just go out and keep getting blown out. You'll stop being a pussy eventually.
All that reading books stuff helps but yea keep yourself fit and do some cardio. Go out all the time. You know what to do. No need for us to tell you what to do.
I would read Mastery and David Deida. Keep it simple.
Just keeping it 100.

@PepsiMax:
1) I had my buddy move into my apt recently for a couple months helping me with SEO for the site as well as just go beasting with. I'd been talking to him for months about starting up martial arts training as he'd ALWAYS have these scenarios with other dudes where he'd take some flak and/or abuse. Funny enough he knew really well how to keep boundaries with chicks it was the dudes he had problems with. So he moves over here and starts training. He's been going several times a week for a couple weeks now. He's already noticed improvements in how he carries himself, how he walks through a crowd, what he puts up with and what he won't. I watched some dude put his hands on him for some dumb reason and he just grabbed the guy's arms, looked at him, and just threw them to the side. Situation over with.
My buddy's a small vietnamese guy and so you'd think he'd need training like this more than most, BUT, most guys to some degree have issues with this kind of thing and they don't even realize it.
The first few days he came back feeling beat up, bruised, slightly overwhelmed. and FACED with his own mortality. Lol. But he'd been through "the process" before, and could see the light at the end of the tunnel. After a couple weeks of this he's more solid, more compact, his body has adjusted and can take a beating, his joints his bones his nerves, are tougher. He is tougher. And this manifests itself in every area.

How old are you? I'd say develop things that'll help you in all areas of life. Self discipline, living in line with your values, shit like that. I'm only 21 but ive wasted years by not sticking to things and doing what I feel like instead of forcing myself to practice and do things I should.
And mw advice about martial arts is solid. If you don't have experience being physical and dominating people I suggest a contact sport or martial arts. The mindset it helps you develop is solid. Plus it helps when leading and dominating girls.
I used to be really scrawny. Still am slim but I work out now and my weight suits my height. But before I used to get targeted a lot in bars for people looking for fights or just who wanted to try and act alpha. But I played rugby in high school. Help immensely. I could rock guys twice my size just because I didn't give a fuck and went in balls deep. So even though I was tiny as hell and would be rocked with a punch, I didn't care, and people can see in your eyes you could care less and aren't scared.
