Why You Feel Scarcity
“After doing this work over the past twelve years and watching scarcity ride roughshod over our families, organizations, and communities, I'd say the one thing we have in common is that we're sick of feeling afraid. we want to dare greatly. We're tired of the national conversation centering on "What should we fear" and "Who should we blame?" We all want to be brave.”
If you haven't read the book, "Daring Greatly" by Brene Brown... get on that shit.
Scarcity is tied so closely to fear it's pretty unbelievable. Also- I'm really happy that she brought up the topic of scarcity in a context other than simply getting chicks- becaues the scarcity we feel "in-field" is simply an extension, or symptom, of the general sense of scarcity in our lives.
Scarcity isn't something that happens to us. Scarcity is something that we do to ourselves through our own actions or inactions on a daily basis. We feel scarcity in our lives because we stop being bold. We stop being INVOLVED in our own lives. We feel scarcity because we see the girl on the street, but insetad of making the BOLD move of approaching her, we tell ourselves, "Next time" and move on with our lives, and as a result we are 0.0001% close to feeling scarcity, and lacking excitment, and not living the life we want.
Scarcity with women is so far away from the root of the problem, it doesn't even need to be discussed. The REAL scarcity... what you're REALLY feeling is a scarcity of vulnerability.
Now, that may come across real "soft" sounding- but all I'm saying is that what you're really feeling is a scarcity of being yourself. A scarcity of allowing yourself to EXPLODE out of the prison you've trapped yourself in. You're feeling a scarcity of freedom.... because you're scared.
It's that scarcity of freedom, vulnerability and BOLDNESS that then translates to the more "outcome" oriented shit like scarcity of women or scarcity of money. The scarcity is a result of our own fear. Nothing else.
This shit doesn't just fucking happen, guys. This is shit we are doing to ourselves, through our own actions or inactions on a daily basis. The biggest fucking lie to ever be spread is that one day we just wake up and shit has "happened"- cause and effect is a fucking LAW..... nothing in this world "just happens"....
So stop telling yourself that somehow this thing or that thing just somehow happened.... because that's bullshit and you know it.
Self worth and fear for the win.
Ya word, been studying and this was a great read. Totally identify with it 100%
Great post Flowerz.
Outwitting The Devil has good advice on getting out of scarcity too... "Wake up, and GIVE." Its almost impossible to maintain a scarcity mindset when you make giving service, good emotions, knowledge etc a habit.
Bump. Good post. Any other gems from Buddhagames we remember? Maybe someone should go through them
