Young bone marrow rejuvenates aging mouse brains, study finds
Just more evidence that exercise and fitness stave off and prevent cognitive decay. But now there's an actual mechanism uncovered.. youthful vigor reduces the activation of microglia, which typically serve to prune and cut neuron connections in the brain (a typical, mostly healthy brain immuno response- cleanup essentially), including ones in the hippocampus which is the area of the brain associated with memory. Seems it's also got something to do with the structure of the microglia themselves. More youthful ones have smaller bodies with longer branches shooting off producing their own branches. Interesting.
Of course as it seems most of medicine these days is not preventative but rent-seeking, we're going to end up having people that just want to take the easy, vampiric way out. Literally. Vampires will come of this
Vampires HAVE come of this in the past!... Only slightly kidding
Skin
Muscle
Bone
Marrow
Enough conditioning and training and we can transform each, although it takes exponentially more energy. Skin is easy.
Most never transform their marrow into something greater, only deplete it! We literally become more valuable as humans as we condition ourselves, so its natural for their to be vultures.
Any sort of capability to "harvest" the effects of "vitality" is super limited right now. In fact it's mostly just lore. Bone marrow transplants, stomach bacteria and enzymes, blood transfusions, etc., are extremely surgical procedures compared to classic archaic traditional practices. But they certainly feed a black market
As amusing as it is to consider an ancient Chinese or Egyptian trying to do a bone marrow transplant, yeah they were more focused on increases in cultivation and vitality through more basic means. Doesn't mean they didn't work well, just that they had little choice but to discipline for decades to achieve changes on the level of a surgical procedure.
Definitely was not an option for someone already sick! (Or poor, unlucky, or women in general)
Yeah the more convenient/mainstream these powerful methods becomes, the more it has the potential for abuse.
