Current Circumstances
Mon, 04/09/2012 - 07:48
OK This thread is about my current life circumstances as Manwhore requested.
- I live in Sacramento, graduated High School last year. Got kicked out of my uncles' last October and now living with a buddy and his mom until today.
- I share rooms with 2 knuckleheads, one of them being the "friend" who went behind my back and took that girl's number at the mall.
- He's doing reserves, ONE of the reasons i don't dare put my hands on him when he pulls stupid shit.
- Got some support from my uncle until he gave me major shit at the end of last year. I don't talk to him anymore. Other family members live abroad, Yeah im on my own.
- If i need to go far, i get my rides from friends
- I've been working at Jack In the Box for a couple of months now. I don't own a car so I have to walk there, takes an hour each trip. It's ok I'm African.
Oh and my $500 bike got stolen by a bunch of brats, sprinted after them for 800m and lost them in a crowded parking lot...FUCK.
- Things are looking bright right now though. Recently tagged along with a friend to test drive the V8 Camaro (fucking beast) at a Cadillac/Chevy dealer. Anyways the Russian salesman is offering me the opportunity to work for them, clueless as to what he saw in me. Studying for a driver's license now and taking the test this week.

Yes i thought about it when
Yes i thought about it when coming out of school.
But that was one of several options. Amongst other issues i just don't like the idea of being someone else's property...that's just me.
These were the other options #1 being the highest preferrence:
1) Working as a Cadillac/Chevrolet salesman
2) Being serious about working at Primerica (financial firm), I just don't feel ready/patient for this one YET.
3) Wait till the end of the year and move to Dallas with a buddy of mine. Better city overall, i hate Sacramento.
4) Going into industrial design to sketch cars, school is costly as hell though.

There's gonna be a lot of
There's gonna be a lot of excuses that come into your head when you're in that stage of thinking about taking action. For me, I didn't really start getting into THIS shit for a long while cause I didn't like the idea, "Of being manipulative" etc. but then I realized it doesn't change who I am.
You seem to have a lot of excuses about why you don't want to do certain things YET... I'd say just start doing SOMETHING. Like there are a lot of times when things are uncertain but IF anything IS ever going to happen, you gotta just take the bull by the horns and MAKE it happen. Like there are worse things in the world than failing or not getting something done that you started, but at the very least, you gotta put your honest to god best effort into it- you'll feel a lot better about yourself if you do.
Point is:
1. Consider the reserves or military (I have a really good friend who worked in the military right after high school, got a job at lockheed martin making like 200k a year, then got accepted into one of the top schools in the country)
2. School doesn't have to be expensive. I know the area you live in and there are a TON of community colleges where you can get credits for like 30-50 dollars a pop. You can set it up so it works around your schedule if you're gonna be working as a salesman. From there- rock out in those classes and just make sure to dominate. Get all A's... sounds intimidating but it's not. Just work hard. If you get real good grades you can transfer to a 4 year university and I know a TON of universities that offer CRAZY GOOD financial aid. Look into which ones offer it, email people there- email the admissions people, network with anyone you can find down there and try to set up an interview and explain your life story- universities are HUGE suckers for anyone with a remotely interesting life story and this can go a LONG way.
3. Like you said, get active about that opportuniity at the dealership- this doesn't have to be exclusive of any of the other options. That's another thing- don't just focus on one of these things. You can slowly take action on all of the ones you want. Just stay focused
Those are some quick thoughts for now.

Yo man so I just found this
Yo man so I just found this list of shit that I made a while back. I still use this list to stay on track and I added to it a few things today, after I found it. Anyway- might be useful for you (if you're still visiting the forum) and others.
Some of these things are SUPER basic... Like retarded shit that most people don't have to worry about (showering and brushing my teeth) but let me tell you, there was a time when this was an issue for me (I was in a real bad place).
Some of these things I succeeded at and actually surpassed greatly (relationship with friends) others, I haven't kept up with as much,(yoga). And others I'm still working on (managing my money).
Absolutely no drugs go hard and be consistent
Adopt 1 Hobby every year and go hard and be consistent
Meditate and go hard and be consistent
Eat Healthy and go hard and be consistent
Exercise and go hard and be consistent
Find a job and go hard and be consistent
Build strong friendships with 3 people and go hard and be consistent
Learn how to and start managing my money properly and go hard and be consistent
Yoga and go hard and be consistent
Clean Room once a week go hard and be consistent
Shower every day go hard and be consistent
Brush Teeth every day go hard and be consistent
Buy a new outfit once a month and go hard and be consistent
Buy 1 big ticket item a year and go hard and be consistent
Isolation Tank Once a Week and go hard and be consistent
The last three I just added. I want to develop a better wardrobe and some other things. The isolation tank is fucking amazing. Just found one here in Manhattan. Totally my jam and has amazing synergy with meditation. It's not SUPER expensive and doing it once a week I think It will help me stay focused and keep that ego in check (something I'm constantly working on)
lmao- the go hard and be consistent is just one of my mottos. Go hard and be consistent. Simple.
So yeah, some of those were more for me at the time than anything else (drugs, showering, brushing teeth) obviously, basic shit... But creating a list like this is really cool. When I saw this today, I was like DAMN. That's awesome.
Anyway- Hope you guys like the idea of just creating a list. I think it's a cool idea and I'm going to start adding to it and taking some things off that I don't need on there anymore. But it's also a great reminder of where I've been, where I am and where I'm going. It can be the same for you.

Well I hope you're gonna read
Well I hope you're gonna read this post cost it can take you from zero to hero
Read the book "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill
This will change your philosophy and make you understand how you have to go about your plans in a strategic way.
For now just focus on being positive, having a positive outlook, do not emphasize the negativity in your life.
If that is your ultimate goal you will not take drugs or do anything bad anyways.
The one thing you wanna do is focus on the positive things and not on what you should not do.
Don't spend any money on bullshit...begin to invest intelligently in things that will bring money back.
This includes good food, good books, some barbells for exercising, ...simple stuff like that which will keep
you in a positive mind frame which is ultimately your biggest asset.
Last but not least, always say to yourself that "everythings gonna work out just fine".

Shit son. Till this day I
Shit son. Till this day I sometimes have problems brushing my teeth and showering. I do it regularly obviously but when I work a 14 hour day, go out with friends for an hour or two, stumble (from tiredness not drunkenness) into my house the last thing I want to do is make a veggie/protein shake, drink a bunch of water with vitamins, go upstairs shower, spend 10 minutes going over my face/teeth cleansing routine, meditate and go to bed. Crashing on the couch watching playoff hockey highlights with a bag of chips is a million times more appealing. But I gotta make my bitch ass do that stuff. It's funny because I will rationalize every reason not too, without even noticing I'm doing it. And then I remember... hey didn't I make a commitment to this stuff? And then slug upstairs even when I think I should be lying on the couch.
Anyways, I run my own business and now I can see why my parents warned me against working for yourself. I think I would excel at a sales job at a dealership and it would be awesome to be able to socialize all freaking day long. The reason I think about sales is I love dealing with clients at the job I have now and I met my friends district manager at Apple and he told me he had a job waiting for me if I wanted in... But then you have to work evenings and weekends. I'd hate that and one of the reasons I want to quit my current job is the hectic schedule. SO damn hard to get a routine going.
I look forward to the replies in this thread.. I need to get my shit down too. Even though I run a fairly successful buisness at my age, I have years of habitual procrastination to reverse. I'm still a teenager despite being almost 22.
Within the next year I plan on, changing jobs, getting financially responsible and start saving a lot of this cash I'm making and moving out

Yeah, man. Basic stuff is
Yeah, man. Basic stuff is important. Easy to slip. Sometimes when I go on my best pickup runs, that's when I notice shit slipping. Went out 22 nights in a row super super hard and like I totally neglected my health. I felt so shitty afterwards. Always tired, but it was interesting because I had so much momentum and was having so much fun that it was like I could stay awake on just pure addrenaline and momentum

What kind of business do you
What kind of business do you run? What kind of experience were your parents speaking from when they "warned" you against working for yourself?
Making lists is very powerful.
Ghettoguru needs to do this he doesn't understand what he's lacking at this point but it will make him aware of it when he compares his list to others. For years I had buddies that were hustlers/entrepreneurs. I didn't understand what they did, why they did it, why they didn't want to be part of the rat race. Now it all makes sense to me, but I had to become aware of it first, and then build it into myself.

Yeah making lists is good
Yeah making lists is good shit. When your in a slump you just need to get used to taking action. All that small stuff adds up and allows you to tackle the big stuff. So when you have a list with a million small things on it and you just start crossing mutha fukas off it makes you super productive.
And Id rather not say exactly what I do as there are only a few of me in my trade in my city (like anyone is ever going to discover me on here or even care... I'm a loser haha) but you could say I do specialized construction. I got a bunch of big companies that I work for though and they like my work. My parents warned me against working for myself solely for the fact your thinking about work after work hours. Especially when you have a wife or kids to support like they did. I do agree with them that it sucks thinking about work when your not working - when your not really that passionate about your job. I really like the work but I can say I would enjoy it as much as say running a dating service or something haha so I don't really want to think about it 24/7 and I take as much time off as I can.
I see the pros of working for yourself if your really passionate about your work or take pride in the work itself. Then you don't care if you stack paper or not. My dream is to wok at this for a couple more years, train some reliable guys and get them to do the work while I just QB from home. But.. Thats a minimum couple years away and Im thinking of getting into something else. I'm working like a 50 year man

Yeah, I've been studying
Yeah, I've been studying internet marketing stuff for a couple weeks now. Gotta get more focused on it after I graduate//during my travels. It's the only way to be able to go real hard at this shit.
I'm starting to view this shit kinda like the dudes in the endless summer viewed surfing. Just a way of life. And the only way to make it totally a way of life is to work for yourself.

Thats what im thinking
Thats what im thinking buddha. And it dont even half to be 100% based on pickup. You can just explore the world and be doing pickup on the side for fun. Complete freedom.
Thanks for the advice manwhore. Im also not certain of what I will be studying yet so maybe if I like the internet marketing I can study something related that will help me advance.

I'm pretty sure if I didn't
I'm pretty sure if I didn't have a really tight network of family and friends I would just travel around pickup and having adventures. No Internet marketing needed. Just work for a few months then travel the rest of the year.
Anyways I have no idea what my name means manwhore. Started out as a inside joke on another forum but that forum already had that named used so I changed it to this.
And yeah I want to go Howard Roark on some shit but I have too many damn conflicting interests. Even something like I pickup I don't have the passion to dedicate my life to it... But then again.. What will I dedicate my life to? Im hoping I just think and feel this way because I'm young cause I don't want to be 35 and have the same questions

Woah did not notice all this
Woah did not notice all this till now, skimming through my history.
Anyways yeah, one of the things that was emphasized was literally writing down a list of my goals and what not.
I've yet to do it, but i've been taking a break from all my bullshitting and focusing on what needs to be done.
The Russian salesman, Alexander has been following up with me and seeing where i'm at with my driver's license. Finally got it, was as easy as making a sandwich.
Made a couple of phone calls throughout last week to the manager, whom i had already met the day of the test drive. He never picked up even as i left 2 messages. So Saturday I showed up at his office barging in and breaking doors lol jk. I went to the dealership, made small talk with Alexander who then escorted me to the manager. I have an interview set up THIS Thursday...yay?
Also turns out he was testing my persistence, he went "I appreciate your tenacity, that is what i'm looking for" before i left his office
I exited the building a happy camper
Later that saturday, after months-long persistence from the black community ( and my ghetto buddy), i got rid of the fro, got braided because of BS and social/limited belief such as:
- ill look "fresh"
- Ill get more b**ches
...Fuck that, my head looked funny and itched like a mofo after that. Cousin's bf and buddy told me braids are a bad idea for job interviews, too gangsta?
They're in complete denial of the fact when i bring up the topic of hair, girls just love to touch mine. Half the time they want a 2nd go at touching it but i tease and say no. haters gonna hate.
Anyways I took it down yesterday, the girl who did my hair is now butthurt.
In the process of taking it down:

In your particular life
In your particular life circumstances you cannot listen to your buddies about your hair. They are just trying to beta you. Yes braids are VERY bad for work. I liked the fro it was cool nice shape lol. Yes bitches probably love touching it and that's a good thing.
Ascend life, bro. Make moves, keep going. Do not follow your buddies mentalities they will never make it anywhere.

Ok so as of now I am stuck in
Ok so as of now I am stuck in Santa Barbara, chilling with my cousin and her bf for 2 weeks or so. After those 2 weels my buddies swing by and we bounce to Dallas.
In the meantime, ill be doing research on Dallas community colleges, carve the path towards industrial design. Did i mention i draw cars?

This place is full of students from UCSB. Hotties.....literally everywhere! It leaves me rubbing my hands, looking left and right not knowing where to start haha.
Their summer school is starting soon woot. Day game ftw.
Im also in the process of making a new POF account, making it clear that im there for 2 weeks, making the most of my stay. looking to get at the very least a BJ... sheesh, it's been months too long. Help? lol
